The Canadian Association of Women in Construction (CAWIC) applauds today’s announcement by the Ontario government for the Working For Workers Five Act. As we know, there are enormous demands for skilled trades in Ontario and across the country, and women are an essential and growing part of the construction industry. Continued action is needed to ensure that the industry is able to recruit and retain women to an exciting and rewarding career. Actions like the ones announced today will help the industry be more inclusive and help the industry support and retain women in all areas of construction. CAWIC looks forward to working with the Ontario Government to support the necessary actions required to further attract women to an exciting and growing career path.
