Acacia Ashick, Construction Project Coordinator at Urbacon and fellow Vice President & Director of Marketing for the Canadian Association of Women In Construction (CAWIC) discusses the benefits of women entering the construction industry as a career, from the perspective of her extremely positive experience as a Construction Project Coordinator in the lates Ontario Construction News Magazine Issue. Women only account for a very small percentage of the construction industry, on and off the field. This needs to change. Acacia discusses through her role as Vice President of CAWIC, she seeks to dissolve the gender imbalance and embrace her role through supporting other women in finding their way in construction. Additionally, Acacia shares tips for other fellow women in construction, “Be confident, ask questions and embrace your enthusiasm.”
