Dr. Mary Donohue

Digital Psychology Pioneer | CEO, Digital Wellness Center

Meet Dr. Mary Donohue:

Dr. Mary Donohue is changing the way the world thinks about digital psychology and
mental health. As the Founder and CEO of the Digital Wellness Center, she’s on a mission to make responsible gaming proactive—like a seatbelt for the mind—before things go off the rails. Her work isn’t about stopping play. It’s about making sure players stay in control, happy, and engaged.

Dr. Mary’s passion is personal. After surviving a heart attack and cancer, and witnessing her brother Tim struggle with online betting, she didn’t just study the science of stress and mood—she built the solution. Her patent-pending myStridePositivePlayTM technology is already transforming digital health, with over 34,000 interactions and a bold mission: to reduce problem gaming by 30% by 2030.

Named by Fortune Magazine as one of the “10 Businesswomen to Watch,” Dr. Mary is a best-selling author (Message Received, Digital Addiction), a TEDx speaker, and a Columbia Business School Lang Center Innovation Fellow. She has worked with Simon Sinek, appeared on CNN, and has been featured in Harvard Business Review and every major North American news network.

She’s not just respected—she’s awarded. DWC has won Flutter’s Alpha Hub Play Well Challenge, the Marketplace Champion Award, and was a finalist for the SBC Player Protection Award. Her work has earned recognition from prime ministers, Queen Elizabeth II, and Diversity MBA, which named her one of the 100 Most Influential Women in America.

What makes Dr. Mary different? She makes science fun, accessible, and unforgettable. Whether on stage as a keynote speaker, in boardrooms with industry leaders, or creating digital interventions that keep players engaged longer, her work sparks real change. And when she’s not reinventing digital wellness? You might catch her on a run, practicing yoga, or telling the story of that one time she was an honorary Supreme alongside Diana Ross.
