CAWIC Gives Back

A core component of CAWIC’s mandate is awarding bursaries to young women enrolled in construction related programs. By providing this support, we are promoting the construction industry as a challenging and rewarding career choice.

Each year, CAWIC organizes several fundraising events, and a portion of the proceeds are allocated to our bursary fund. In order to help us identify potential applicants for bursaries, we approach various Canadian post-secondary institutions that provide diploma or degree programs in construction-related disciplines to distribute information to students on our bursary program. The Bursary Committee reviews all of the applications received, and recipients are then selected based on meeting the required criteria. Recipients have the opportunity to be awarded bursaries between $1,000 and $2,000. For more information, please click here.

CAWIC understands the importance in community involvement. Our volunteers give back to a wide of community initiatives, including the Shoebox Project, Habitat for Humanity, amongst others.

Mentorship is an important component of success in any organization. CAWIC continues its efforts to build its Mentorship Program to provide incoming and existing members with key links to contact, information and opportunities in construction.
