Important Reminders
Thank you for your participation in the upcoming event. As a speaker at the CAWIC national conference, please keep the following reminders in mind to ensure a smooth and successful presentation:
- Arrive at least 30 minutes before your scheduled session.
- Please email a copy of your presentation slides by September 3 to info@cawic.ca. Bring a backup of your presentation on a USB drive.
- Upon arrival, please check into the conference registration desk located in the Skylight Foyer. We would be happy to show you where you will be speaking. Once onsite, if you have any issues, please call or text Kris Fixter at 416-388-2960.
- All session rooms have one podium microphone and one microphone. Should you be participating in a panel discussion, panelists will share one passed microphone.
- All presentation slots are timed according to the following timing: 5 minutes opening remarks, 45 minute presentation or panel, 5 minutes closing remarks, and 5 minutes for travel time to next session.
- Ensure your presentation adheres to the allotted time. Engage with the audience and encourage questions.
- The dress code for conference is country western for the opening reception; business casual for the conference sessions; and formal or business for the Gala Dinner and Awards.
- If your organization is looking to further support this year’s conference, please considering sponsoring the event or becoming an exhibitor.

About the Conference
The Canadian Association of Women in Construction (CAWIC) inaugural national conference is a milestone event dedicated to shaping the future of our industry. We look forward to welcoming you on September 10-12, 2024 at the White Oaks Resort and Spa in Niagara-on-the-Lake, Ontario.
Our 2024 conference theme is Elevate. Empower. Transform., which signifies the commitment we need to foster a diverse, inclusive, and transformational construction industry and the collaborative action that we can all take every day. The conference includes Inspiring keynote speakers and informative sessions; engaging opportunities for you to connect with other professionals; fun and memorable networking events; Celebratory Awards and Gala Dinner; and an Exhibitor Centre.
The CAWIC National Conference Program
We encourage you to stay and enjoy the full conference, including Opening Reception, Key Note speakers, breakout sessions. All conference sessions, with the exception of the Gala and Awards Dinner, are provided free of charge to speakers. Should you wish to attend the Gala and Awards Dinner, please register online. Speakers are responsible for any of their own travel requirements and bookings.
