Office Hours: 8:00am-4:30pm

As YG Construction’s Jr. Project Manager you will play a part in the conceptual development of our construction projects, overseeing its organization, scheduling, and implementation. You will ensure the maintenance of structures, facilities, and systems are intact. Daily as the Jr. Project Manager, you start the day with team-huddles to support the staff with any concerns. You have the ability to manage one’s own time and the time of others, you give full attention to what other people are saying, and use logic and reason to identify the strengths and weaknesses of alternative solutions. Constantly checks in on all projects throughout the day and with input from others, you are accountable for the projects budget management.

  • Follow established safety rules and regulations and maintain a safe and clean environment;
  • Confer with supervisory personnel, owners, contractors, and design professionals to discuss and resolve matters such as work procedures, complaints, and construction problems;
  • Inspect and review projects to monitor compliance with building and safety codes, and other regulations;
  • Interpret and explain plans and contract terms to administrative staff, workers, and clients, representing the owner or developer;
  • Plan, organize, and direct activities concerned with the construction and maintenance of structures, facilities, and systems;
  • Prepare and submit budget estimates and progress and cost tracking reports;
  • Prepare contracts and negotiate revisions, changes and additions to contractual agreements with architects, consultants, clients, suppliers and subcontractors;
  • Schedule the project in logical steps and budget time required to meet deadlines;
  • Select, contract, and oversee workers who complete specific pieces of the project, such as painting or plumbing;
  • Study job specifications to determine appropriate construction methods;
  • Accountable to order all materials; knowing the best suppliers
  • Take actions to deal with the results of delays, bad weather, or emergencies at construction site.


  • A bachelor’s degree or equivalent or related work experience;
  • Valid Driver’s License for the Province of Ontario
  • Direct experience with Construction Management Software;
  • Personal development through, attendance at related tradeshows, tutorial sessions, product training seminars
  • Microsoft Office Suite of products (WORD/EXCEL)
  • Have the ability to read and interpret blueprints
  • Valid and current Ministry of Labour approved;
    • WHIMIS Certificate
    • First Aid / CPR
    • Working at Heights
