Talent Acquisition Manager – Priestly Demolition Inc. (PDI)

Priestly Demolition Inc. (PDI) is seeking a Talent Acquisition Manager to support with developing and driving strategies for overall corporate recruitment initiatives by creating an annual recruiting plan, driving recruitment operations, and managing the onboarding process for all new employees. The Manager will also represent Priestly Demolition Inc. as an “employer of choice” and project annual recruitment expenditures. The role is critical in ensuring Priestly Demolition Inc. hires the best possible candidates by developing and executing industry leading recruitment plans and networking through industry contacts, association memberships, trade groups and employees.

Job Duties

  • Manage recruitment budget and organizational recruitment plans
  • Manage the onboarding process for all new employees
  • Support initiatives to enhance the company’s diversity recruitment strategy through relationship building
  • Create and monitor job postings
  • Create, facilitate, and deliver training and professional development for administrators and managers on selection, recruitment, and retention processes Design, develop and maintain the recruitment plan and process.
  • Understand and keep informed on best practice candidate sourcing and recruitment strategies, trends and technology
  • Evaluate and implement new technology and training to ensure that the organization’s needs are continually met
  • Work closely with human resource teams regarding staffing needs
  • Aligns workforce-planning activities with organizational mission/objectives/goal.
  • Liaison with management to identify personnel needs across all positions, including the possible creation of new positions.
  • Project yearly recruitment expenditures for budgetary consideration and control
  • Evaluate recruitment and selection criteria to ensure conformance to professional standards and best practices; recommending revision as needed
  • Maintain current knowledge of Pay Equity, human rights, labour legislation changes and employment standards guidelines and laws in both Canada and the US
  • Aid marketing in establishing a recognizable “employer of choice” reputation for the company, both internally and externally.
  • Network through industry contacts, association memberships, trade groups and employees.
  • Lead the creation of a recruiting and interviewing plan for each open position and train internal recruitment team and line managers on its usage.
  • Create, update and revise job descriptions.
  • Collects various forms of data from a wide range of sources to support problem solving and decision making
  • Utilize the Internet, social and professional websites for recruitment, as well as external recruitment agencies and job centres.
  • Research and recommend new sources for active and passive candidate recruiting.
  • Conduct regular follow-up with managers to determine the effectiveness of recruiting plans and implementation.
  • Monitors and strives to reduce the costs of the recruitment process.
  • Conducts recruitment for the managerial job positions (or key jobs in the organization).
  • Manages and develops the team of Talent Acquisition Specialists.

Requirements

  • Diploma/Degree in Human Resources or other appropriate field.
  • Minimum 7-9+ years of proven success in a hand’s-on Human Resources recruitment management role.
  • Minimum 3 years of management experience.
  • Proven success building and implementing workforce-planning strategies, recruitment strategies and processes.
  • Complex compensation and total rewards program development experience
  • Experience working with construction, demolition and trade union environments
  • Experience leading human resources policies and practices supporting US an asset
  • Highly developed analytical and problem-solving skills.

Work Conditions

  • Manual dexterity required to use desktop computers.
