Brief Overview:
The Senior Superintendent will lead multiple project teams throughout the course of the Project. The Senior Superintendent will interact with the project Team, Consultants and Owners, to ensure a progressive and safe working environment. The Senior Superintendent is responsible for all field aspects of multiple Project budgets, schedules, safety, and Performance. The Senior Superintendents role is to provide leadership and Mentoring to multiple Project staff and will report to the General Superintendent.


  •  Mentors, manages team, and oversees responsibilities of the field teams on multiple projects. Lending expertise and support to the teams at several adjoining phases of the project.
  • Participates in the implementation of schedules, coordination, effective cost control methods as they pertain to labour, equipment, and materials.
  • Liaise with owners, clients, union, and labour relations.
  • Ensures Project Superintendents are maintaining construction procedures on the project, safety work, job safety and analysis.
  • Lends expertise and support to several projects.
  • Participates in pre-qualification process for approval for all recommended trades in the awarding of subcontracts.
  • Monitors project as it relates to trade contractors to determine if construction schedules are being met.
  • Supports the project field team in site set up, temporary power planning, purchasing/ rentals of major equipment and assist in establishing a functional material coordination program for the site.
  • Coordinates with purchasing on the selection of the appropriate equipment for the site. • Monitors the development and execution of the project plan and schedule and provides support to the field teams.
  • Provides pre-tender scheduling support and Trade Selection.
  • Provides support to the field teams on input and ensuring completeness of trade contracts. • Conducts site trade meetings to support field teams and monitors the Sub Trade commitment to the Overall Flow of the Project.
  • Follow ups with field team on project schedules, and determine if they are current, assist where needed.
  • Liaison with Project Manager’s to ensure work complies with contract drawings and specifications.
  • Ensures the field teams are meeting the projects Contractual Obligations. • Provide Leadership to multiple sites on the HSE Program as it pertains to the Joint Health and Safety Committee, the Worker Trade Committee, and general safety protocol on the Site.
  • Participate in the purchasing of major equipment usages, such as cranes, hoists, critical lifts, etc.
  • Give support, review, analyze and resolve field construction problems. • Accountable for the development of the field people on multiple projects. • Troubleshooting, as they pertain to Safety, Schedule, Clients/Consultants, Construction Planning, Field personnel development.
  • Participates and supports the Project Closeout, including Pre-inspection Punch Lists and Project Close-Out Procedures
  • Provide guidance to the field team with knowledge of Local Regulatory Official, By-Laws, Trade Union Officials and Local Labour Laws that pertain to the project.
  • Support Field Staff with the project contract and execution of the contract. • Provide creative ideas to innovative solutions to the constructability of the project. • Support Field Staff to fully understand the specifications, methods, and procedures to carry out their activities on the project.
  • Monitor the productivity of multiple projects, as it pertains to the Schedule and Cash Flow.


  • Post-secondary school degree or diploma in a construction related area of study. • Minimum fifteen (15) years of direct work experience working in high-rise / ICI construction.
  • Experience overseeing multiple construction projects from start to finish. • Current and up to date on Health & Safety certifications.
  • Possess a valid driver’s license.
  • A Safety Leader
  • Builds strong relationships with Project Superintendents, consultants, clients and construction trades.
  • Thorough understanding of all construction techniques and value engineering. • Effectiveness in the areas of construction safety and productivity.
  • Thorough knowledge of local, provincial, and federal workplace compliance regulations, and legislation in relation to the construction industry, specifically high-rise residential / ICI construction.
  • Thorough of OH&S regulations and related building codes.


  • Experience working with Procore and Microsoft Suite including SharePoint • Understanding the High Standards of Quality Assurance
