Sales Representative Job Description

Reporting to the Sales Manager the Sales Representative is responsible for the development and management of sales within their region. These duties include continually engaging with current clients, future clients, the public, and any other stakeholders involved with Northern Mat & Bridge
business.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Monitoring operations in their area to ensure that client needs are being appropriately met
  • Promotes the company image through exercising sound and ethical business practices as related to the customers and the public
  • Understands the customer is the first priority
  • Inform the Sales Manager in a timely manner on sales, competitor Intel and market activity
  • Call existing and prospective clients
  • Establish and maintain a current customer list
  • Follow up jobs performed by Northern Mat and Bridge in your sales area and report to the Sales Manager
  • Communicate with sales department regularly to exchange information regarding discount agreements, pricing and leads
  • Present yourself in a professional manner at all times while representing Northern Mat and Bridge

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Ability to be discrete and maintain high levels of confidentiality
  • Demonstrated communication skills, including oral, written and presentation abilities, networking and relationship building skills
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently
  • Strong outside sales skills
  • Effective problem solving and conflict management skills
  • Exceptional interpersonal skills
  • Capable to travel weekly
  • Experience in the Construction/Industrial market selling direct to key decisions makers

Experience Requirements:

  • A minimum of 2 to 4 years of professional outside sales experience in Construction and/or Oil and gas industry
  • Customer service experience
  • Bridge and Matting product knowledge a definite asset

Education Requirements:

  • Post-secondary education in business/sales an asset
  • Clean Driving Abstract/License
