CAWIC Mentorship Program
Mentorship is an important component to success in any occupation.
CAWIC’s Mentorship Committee provides
support for women in the Canadian construction industry. It serves a
vital role in providing new and existing members with key links to
contacts, information and opportunities in construction. Our mentors
attend job fairs and career days at public and secondary schools,
colleges and universities, speaking to young women on the opportunities
for women in the industry. Our mentors share their knowledge and
experience with women new to construction. Those being mentored gain
advice and guidance from women experienced in the field.
With a diverse membership of established women in construction,
CAWIC is in an ideal position to assist, encourage and inform young
women interested in a career in construction. All CAWIC members are
encouraged to act as mentors, whether inside the association or outside
in the community. The key to mentorship is to communicate, educate and
participate. “We make a living by what we get, but we make a life by
what we give.”
